The International LED Foundation was formed for the purpose of helping to reduce global energy demand through superior lighting technology. Our goal is to educate consumers to the benefits of utilizing LED lighting technology, both in energy savings and reliability.

Members of the foundation share the common view that technical innovation and awareness can help produce a balance of available energy and consumption. The International LED Foundation is dedicated to improving worldwide lighting efficiency through the education of consumers, the promotion of currently available LED technology and the ongoing development of new products.

The International LED Foundation embraces and supports both high and low tech solutions to improved energy efficiency.

The International LED Foundation does not advocate depriving societies of the comforts or convenience that they have worked to achieve, rather admonishes that it is incumbent upon those societies to utilize the most efficient means available to satisfy their needs.

BRINGING LIGHT TO UNWIRED WORLDS

Due to the energy efficiency of LED lamps it is possible to provide safe lighting to areas that have no electrical infrastructure. This is being achieved through solar, battery and manual power sources powering energy efficient LED lamps. Leading the way in this effort is the Light Up the World Foundation in Canada, founded by Dr. Dave Irvine-Halliday. The LUTW Foundation is making lighting available in areas of the world previously using dangerous kerosene fuel for lighting, improving the quality of life for people in undeveloped areas.
